Many people are perplexed by the appearance of body acne when they are fully mature adults. It can become embarrassing to go out to the beach or to risk keeping the lights on during those bare all romantic moments. So some simply refuse to go to the beach and others resort to body make-up. Body acne can appear on anyone at any time from the young to the old make no mistake about it. It does appear more frequently at certain times and under certain conditions. In the summer you may find that you have flare ups of body acne on your chest and back. Guys who wear sports equipment while playing sports tend to chafe where straps touch the skin and are more prone to get acne in these areas. The same goes for women, their bra straps and the elastic support band tend to rub the skin and cause irritation that leads to acne. In the summertime the sweat and oils from our skins glands can mix with dirts and other pore blockers like deodorant to lead to blockages and resultant bacteria build ups. One of the best things you can do to help prevent body acne is to take a shower after any activity that leaves you soaked in sweat. If you are a person who tends deodorant over much of their torso you may want to think about easing off that approach. The deodorant will work to block the pores of your skin and lead to more body acne. The same goes for excessive use of body powders and certain kinds of lotions. Try wearing cotton clothing that is loose. The cotton will naturally wick sweat from your skin and it should be light weight and minimally irritating to the skin. Try to use plain soap on your skin if you have an outbreak of body acne, to reduce the chances of irritation and remember to shower frequently after heavy work or exercise. |
