Indo-European cultures developed a zodiac of twelve signs associated with a yearly cycle and with constellations of stars that lie along the apparent path of the Sun across the heavens. Like wise, Taurus (21 April-21 May), Gemini(22 May-22 June), Cancer(23 June-23 July), Leo(24 July-23 August), Virgo(24 August-23 September), Libra(24 September-23 October), Scorpio(24 October-22 November), Sagittarius(23 November-22 December), Capricorn(23 December-19 January), Aquarius(20 January-19 February), Pisces(20 February-20 March) each and every signs have its own span.
These Zodiac signs signify some characteristics about the person. Like Leo is a vigorous sign and it signifies valor and power. Generally a Leo is very dominating and loves to overpower a situation. Librans are known for their diplomacy and capability for judgment. Fundamentally, Aries' is the typical initiator, the one who gets things started. Arians sets out for personal achievements. Taurus, more than any other signs love to enjoy their lives to the fullest. The Gemini people are said to be doing the work of the nervous system to human race. Cancer is, more than any other, the sign of home and family. Cancerians are viewed as extremely homely people. Virgo takes in substance and discriminates between what is useful and what isn't, and works with it so that it may be more useful still, and thus be of service to humanity. Having the Sun in Scorpio, one's task is to learn to be at ease with feeling what goes on beneath the surface of life.
Sagittarius witnesses to the importance of deriving meaning from experience. It is a fire sign and like any other fire sign, it needs the freedom for movement. Capricorn witnesses to the importance of the social order in which one lives, its proper functioning, and the personal fulfillment which can be found through finding one's true place within it. An Aquarian shows to live within society without being bound by it in such a way as not to stifle human creative activity. Pisces performs the difficult task of straddling this divide - between the human and the divine. More than any other sign, perhaps, Pisces experiences normal human life as limited, for it excludes so much that can make life more complete. Thus a zodiac sign helps to understand the personality of different people. And this is interlinked with our birthdays.
