Start by investigating the costs of pay per click advertising for certain search engines. The larger the search engine, the more you will have to bid in order to acquire your keywords.
The largest search engines in the pay per click business are Yahoo and Google. Google is not actually a pay per click search engine but it offers pay per click advertising in text boxes on the right hand side of the search results pages.
Make sure you check out other, smaller search engines. Even though they are smaller, their pay per click rates for keywords will be lower. If you are just starting out and are not flush with money, this might be your best option.
WORDS OF CAUTION:
Always keep in mind when using pay per click advertising; NEVER start out making a large investment. Start with the minimum amount and see how the search engine performs. Does it deliver much traffic? Does the traffic convert into paying customers?
