The Quickest and Easiest Way to Build Your Acting Resume

Do you feel powerless because you don't have much work to put on your acting resume?

Well let me tell you the QUICKEST and EASIEST way to build your acting resume.

The quickest and easiest way to build your acting resume is to act in student short film project, theatre, even if amateur, and do some classes.

There are many articles and books out there that will show you how to set out your acting resume that is not the purpose of this article. The purpose of this article is getting your acting resume STARTED. On your acting resume you will include Film and TV, Theatre and Commercial work that you have done, where and what you have studied (in relation to acting) and also skills you are good at.

You may feel that short films, independent theater and a few simple classes don't really hold much weight but you have to start somewhere! And believe it or not the more you do at this level the more your confidence builds, the more your name gets spread around, the more you can talk about what your are doing and the more work you will attract.

The most important thing is not WHAT you're doing but that you GET STARTED! Then over time as your skills develop and your acting resume starts to build you can be more selective about what roles you take on and only do those projects you feel are going to stretch you as an actor or make you some good contacts.

Believe me if you just get started on building your acting resume, opportunities will come to you and you will start attracting and landing "real" jobs that you can use to replace your initial jobs.

ACTING CLASSES, TRAINING and SKILLS you feel competent at are things you can add to your acting resume instantly.

Build your skills and then add them one by one to your acting resume. Sports are great like tennis, horse riding, skateboarding, snowboarding, skiing, football, ballet and also don't forget to include any languages that you can speak. Add anything that gives you an advantage over others; definitely add any singing and musical instrument abilities.

These are things that you can take charge of in your acting career, things that allow you to reclaim your power as an actor. Build you skills, take some classes, do short film projects, meet people, grow your list of contacts, you never know what projects these directors will do in the future.

As actors we want to be Stars yesterday but the reality is, is that for the majority it isn't like that, it takes time, and you know what, you may make it tomorrow but that doesn't mean you can't be doing something to get ahead TODAY. So start building your acting resume today look in your local trade paper or on the Internet or on notice boards for a theatre or film project and then GO FOR IT!

To your acting success
